In 1978, Drs. Flavius and Joan Pernoud, a husband and wife team founded Pernoud Eye Care with a passion to provide leading-edge eye care to their patients. That passion continues today.

Both doctors were born and raised in South St. Louis and received their medical degrees from St. Louis University School of Medicine. Following a similar course, both doctors received their advanced eye specialty training at the University of Texas. Dr. Flavius Pernoud trained an extra year in corneal surgery and disease. Dr. Joan Pernoud went on to specialize in cosmetic surgery of the eyes.
